Starting the Center The President of UTB/TSC creates the Center. The Vice President for Academic Affairs appoints the Advisory Board The Vice President for Academic Affairs appoints the Director based upon a non-binding recommendation of the Advisory Board. The Advisory Board and Director make non-binding recommendation for faculty to the Vice President for Academic Affairs for appointment to the Center. The Vice President for Academic Affairs shall establish an account for the Center. The Center will be able to receive funding from external grants and donations. Directs costs of biomedical grants from Center faculty will go to the Center. The College/School indirect costs will be distributed according to the University of Texas at Brownsville/Texas Southmost College contract and grant administration policies. The “division” indirect costs shall be shared between the Center and the College or School if the Principal Investigator has appointments in both (50% each). If the faculty member has an exclusive appointment at the Center, the total indirect costs will go to the Center. Click here to go back to previous page
